I started to feel after awhile that the Greek mythology was overdone, like the author wanted to include as much as possible...or throw in just to throw in. It seemed that at every corner Percy was meeting up with some sort of mythological monster. Still, the witty humor and new character Tyson more than made up for that and I enjoyed the ride. Like the first, this book had a quest that was resolved by the end but also a continuing story as Luke and his monsters try to recruit followers to help bring back the Titan king, Kronos, who is beginning to put himself back together and escape Tartarus. I'm looking forward to The Titan's Curse.
