The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, 458 pages

"The dark, fearsome Ringwraiths were searching for a hobbit. Frodo Baggins knew they were seeking him and the Ring he bore - the Ring of Power that would enable evil Sauron to destroy all that was good in Middle-earth. Now it is up to Frodo and his faithful servant, Sam, with a small band of companions, to carry the Ring to the one place it could be destroyed - Mount Doom, in the very center of Sauron's dark kingdom."

I've lost track of how many times I've read The Lord of the Rings. I just know that every time I read them I'm reminded why they are my favorite books. If you haven't read them you should. Peter Jackson did a great job making the movies as true to the books as possible with a couple of exceptions.

Aragorn is one of my favorite literary characters. I've never liked how he is depicted in the movies, and I also don't like what they do with his sword, Anduril, in the movie. He also seems to spend the whole movie doubting himself, afraid to become who he was meant to become. In the books I always felt that he knows who he is. His heart is with Arwen yet he knows there are things he is supposed to do.

I love the complexity of the characters, the friendships, the courage, the adventure, the story, everything!
