Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky

This book follows several fictional characters through the evacuation of Paris and the occupation of it in 1940 and 1941. Before the auther was done writing she was sent to Auschwitz where she died. The story was published decades later. I enjoyed the different shades of gray in the characters in this book. They are complex and interesting.
