Wicked by Gregory Maguire, 560 pages

I love the musical version of Wicked and although I had been told that the book was different and darker I wasn't quite prepared for how different or how dark it is. I couldn't get passed the coarse and crass sex descriptions to enjoy this much. Elphaba was an interesting character who struggled over definitions of evil and was misunderstood but I think I'll stick with the musical.
